In 2020 the University of the Faroe Islands (UFI), the National Library and the Research Council began the work of adopting a research information management system for the Faroe Islands. The chosen system is PURE, which is provided by the leading publisher, Elsevier. The system is being set up to incorporate all of the public research institutions on the Faroe Islands, and to act as a national repository for research publications – and for this reason it is being called PURE Faroe Islands.
This is a user’s guideline for how to log on to PURE Faroe Islands and how to register your basic information in the system – so that your profile (which has already been created) will be populated with the relevant information. This is something that we will need all our teaching and research staff to do, but most importantly it is a wonderful way of presenting yourself and your work to the world.

CREATING A PURE FAROE ISLANDS PROFILE

All researchers at UFI have automatically been registered with a profile in PURE Faroe Islands and are now being asked to populate a profile with all their research and teaching output.

This applies to:

  • Professors
  •  Associated professors
  • Assistant professors
  • Teaching lecturers
  • Affiliated researchers
  • PhD students

If you have another title than mentioned above, you can request a research profile from the Research and Enterprise Unit (reu@setur.fo).

You enter the PURE Faroe Islands system by logging into www.pure.fo with the access information which will have been sent to your email. If you have not received this email, please notify pure@setur.fo.
